Thinking about leaving my UX 250h parked for about 3-4 months while I’m away.

Anyone out there have tips or experiences with letting these hybrid babies sit for a while?

Any must-do prep or tips to keep it happy while I’m gone? Love to hear your thoughts!

When I had to leave my car parked for a few months, I found some helpful tips in my owner's manual. First, I poured a bottle of Stabil into the gas tank to keep the fuel fresh and prevent it from going bad. Then, I invested in a Battery Tender and connected it to the 12V battery. This kept it charged without any risk of overcharging. It worked wonders when I returned, and the car was ready to go without any issues. You might find these steps useful for yours

To avoid flat spots, ensure that your tires are properly inflated. If possible, jack it up. Wash and wax your car to protect its paint.

I’m mostly worried about both the 12V and hybrid batteries. Does disconnecting the 12V battery help even without a battery tender? I think the hybrid battery doesn’t need much attention, though.

I’ve left my hybrid sitting a few times while on long trips, so here’s what worked for me: make sure the gas tank is full to avoid condensation forming, and pop some fuel stabilizer in there if you’re really playing it safe. Disconnecting the 12V battery is a good call if it’s going to be untouched. Oh, and throw a sunshade on the windshield to protect the interior from UV damage. When you’re back, it might take a minute for the car to recalibrate, but hybrids like the UX usually bounce back no problem!

The hybrid battery should be good for a while, but you should probably disconnect the 12V battery or keep it trickle charging so it doesn't die. Or, you could have someone start it up and let it run for a bit every now and then.

Fill the tank all the way up to prevent condensation in the gas. You might want to add some fuel stabilizer too.

Don't use the parking brake for too long. Use wheel chocks instead to keep it from rolling.

Before you drive it again, check all the fluids, tire pressure, and make sure the battery's charged. Your UX should start right up!
